The first half of Casshern Sins through the viewer into the mysterious apocalyptic setting, where the world was ending and everything had a hint of mystery to how Casshern was, and what it was that he did.As the second half of Casshern Sins gets started, the show goes from the episodic style to a more linear story line. Casshern begins to start searching for Luna, who is said to hold the power to end the Ruin and grant eternal life.

The Ruin only makes the condition of the robots worse, and even the main cast of characters become effected by the rust that is destroying their bodies. As the Ruin comes closer, the robots only become more desperate in their desire to live.

When Casshern finally locates Luna, they realize that the eternal life that every one was searching for may not have been the salvation that they had all thought it to be. Casshern and his companions decide that maybe accepting the Ruin quietly is the proper and brave thing to do, instead of craving madly a solution to the Ruin and eternal life.

The show takes a few episodes to flesh out certain side characters, to show how they have changed since they were first introduced, or what their back story was and how they came to be. These episodes were some of the best in the show, especially Lyuze's own surreal character development episode.

Casshern Sins ends on a bittersweet note, and I don't want to spoil the entire end because I think this is the sort of show that people should really take a look at. The ending may not be for everyone, but if you are alright with an open ending then I would absolutely recommend this show. Between the wonderful art style, setting, and fantastic animation by Madhouse, I can't get across just how much I love and recommend this show.
